The award winning King Fahad National Library in Riyadh, Saudi-Arabia, designed by Gerber Architekten, has been nominated for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture this year. 348 projects were suggested, only 19 were nominated for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture 2016. "We are very proud that the King Fahad National Library was nominated by the judges under leadership of his highness Prinz Aga Khan IV. All 19 projects on the shortlist are top-class projects. It is a very important honor for us", says Prof. Eckhard Gerber.
The World Architecture Festival (WAF) is the largest international Architecture Event in the world and organizer of one of the most important architecture awards. The design of Olaya Metro Station by Gerber Architekten is one of the 10 finalists in the category „Infrastructure - Future Projects". Prof. Eckhard Gerber will present the nominated project at the Festival and is hopeful to receive the award at the award ceremony in November 2016.
